There was a time yesteryear when a Dublin Frames show wasn't that rare a commodity but nowadays a gig by Glen Hansard and co. in their spiritual home of Whelan's is just about the best news we've heard all week. And yes, we know it's Monday.

The Frames were once arguably Ireland's most popular band not called U2 but Glen Hansard's Oscar win for the film 'Once' led to a whole new level of fame. This led to Hansard breaking away from the Frames brand and performing under his own name more and more, meaning that the more traditional Frames shows became a thing of the past. That is, until next Monday.

The gig will take place as part of the Whelan's 25 celebrations, which also saw Damien Rice pay a visit for a show a few weeks back, and tickets will go on sale at 2pm sharp TOMORROW (Tuesday 24th) from WAV Tickets priced at €20 (plus booking fee). Be swift, this one will sell out FAST.
