Some of music's biggest names may have passed on from this earthly realm, but their estates' bank balances continue to grow.
Forbes has just released its list of the highest-earning dead celebrities for 2016, and the musicians near the top of the list will come as no surprise.
Michael Jackson continues to top the list, mostly thanks to a deal struck with Sony for his half of publishing company ATV, which was worth a whopping $750 million earlier this year.
Other names on the list include new entry David Bowie at #11, who died in January and has earned $10 million this year; John Lennon at #8, who earned $12 million; Bob Marley at #6, who earned $21 million; Prince at #5, who earned $25 million since his death in April and Elvis at #4, who earned $27 million.
Jackson tops the list with a total of $825 million earned in 2016 alone.
