Before Niall Horan came along, The Blizzards were the biggest thing out of Mullingar since Joe Dolan.

The band, led by Niall 'Bressie' Breslin - a man who has since become known for his role as a mentor on The Voice of Ireland, as well as his stellar work for mental health awareness - went on hiatus in 2010 after releasing two albums.

Now, they have regrouped to record their third album and play some live dates around the UK and Ireland this summer, including at date at the Indiependence festival on July 30th.

Their new single 'Drop Down the Anchor' is out on June 30th and you can hear it below, at the 17:05 mark on yesterday's Dermot & Dave show on Today FM:
