Below, you'll find names - or at least, some of them - that you'll be hearing a lot of in 2017.
The BBC 'Sound of' list rounds up the most buzzed-about international acts as we head into each new year, with previous winners including Jack Garratt, Sam Smith and Adele.
Although some names on this year's list are mostly unheard-of, there are a few acts that have previously made an impression - including Anderson .Paak, who released his debut album 'Malibu' this summer and heads out on tour with Bruno Mars next year. However, the only criteria for inclusion is that the act must not have featured on a UK Top 20 record prior to October 30th, and who must not be widely-known by the British public.
The longlist of fifteen names will be reduced to five on January 2nd, and the eventual winner will be announced on January 6th.
