Taylor Swift has been accused of ‘ripping off’ a 2016 ad for French fragrance and fashion brand Kenzo.
The dance moves and setting in her music video for new single ‘Delicate’ are very similar to the commercial for Kenzo’s fragrance Kenzo World.
The 2016 Kenzo TVC was directed by the critically acclaimed filmmaker Spike Jonze and won a Cannes Lion the year it was released.
The ad stars ballerina and actress Margaret Qualley in a gown leaving an event to go on a mad dance spree through a hotel setting. In the Swift video, the singer also breaks out into a madcap dance routine through a similar-looking lavish hotel.
You can watch and compare the two here:
A former PR rep for the company reportedly posted this pointed tweet: “Listen Tay, I feel you. It’s hard to stay fresh. Call us, we can help.” However it has since been deleted.
The Twitter universe are far from impressed:

The new @taylorswift13 Delicate music video is such an insanely blatant copy/rip-off of the Spike Jonze Kenzo World commercial. The setting, colour palette, choreography, everything.

Anybody else notice that the @taylorswift13 "Delicate" music video ripped off Spike Jonze's Kenzo video? It's almost beat-for-beat, just with worse dancing. pic.twitter.com/0hGKxBTn22

Taylor Swift’s new music video IS a direct rip off of Spike Jonze’s Kenzo ad! No debate to be had! And it’s much worse!

Taylor Swift's new video is plagiarism. They basically copied the Kenzo World ad for christ's sake
