In what may come to most as not-so-shocking-at-all news, it's been reported that kids these days are more familiar with Justin Bieber's lyrics than they are with Shakespeare's work.

The 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death is on Saturday, and as such, a survey was commissioned by Deezer to see how well Britain's 18-25 population knew his work in comparison with one of pop's biggest stars.

A depressing one-third of those surveyed did not recognise one of The Bard's most famous lines - 'To be, or not to be...' from 'Hamlet' - but over half did recognise Bieber's lyrics 'Is it too late now to say sorry?' and 'Girlfriend, girlfriend, you could be my girlfriend'.

Sam Lee, Music Editor of Deezer UK & Ireland, said: "Like Shakespeare, Justin Bieber is undoubtedly one of the most well-known figures of his time and his popularity means people nowadays seem to know their ‘baby, baby, baby, ohs’ more than their ‘wherefore art thou Romeo’s."
