So you thought festival season was over once Electric Picnic was done and dusted? Think again...

The Spirit of Folk festival is on the near horizon, taking place in Dunderry, Co. Meath from September 18th to 20th, and the festival's full programme has just been announced.

Over thirty bands will play across the three days, including previously-announced headliner Mick Flannery, as well as Moxie, Rhob Cunningham, and Inni-K.

As well as the music, there will storytelling and poetry reading from Batt Burns, Eddie Lenihan, Jack Lynch and Nuala Hayes; The Irish Times' Book Club discussion of Nuala O'Connor's book 'Miss Emily'; a Strive Theatre production of ‘In Light of Salt Rings They Drew’, written by Sadhbh Moriarty; a table quiz; comic jam; and even a Spirit of Folk ‘Blind Date'.

There'll also be various workshops and talks, including ones on ancient druidism and shamanism, African song and dance workshops, living history, viking battle reenactments, archery, falconry, bicycle jousting, yoga, astronomy and bushcraft.

There's plenty for kids, too (and under 12s go free) - including mindfulness for kids, dream catcher workshops, theatre performances, face-painting, puppet making, storytelling and dance.
