Sigur Ros' lead singer Jonsi Birgisson is set to release an album with his boyfriend (quote "artistic partner") Alex Somers. The project goes by the nice of Riceboy Sleeps and will release a self titled album this summer. It was recorded in Birgisson's homeland of Iceland and features recordings with previous collaborators Amiina and the Kopavogsdaetur choir.
Alex Somers is primarily an artist and has worked on several Sigur Ros album covers in the past, the most acclaimed of these being Takk. Under the name Riceboy Sleeps, the duo have already staged art exhibitions and released a self-titled book in 2006 as a limited edition embossed hardcover.
Riceboy Sleeps is due for release of July 20th and the tracklist is as follows:
