The news that Pogues frontman and all-round musical legend Shane MacGowan had been hospitalised saw an outpouring of concern from fans of the musician.
MacGowan's wife Victoria Mary Clarke took to Twitter earlier this week to break the news that the 64-year-old had been hospitalised, asking fans to send 'prayers and healing vibes'.
Now, however, the prognosis is looking a little more positive as Clarke gave fans an update, revealing that the 'Fairytale of New York' singer was being treated for an infection, but was expected to make a recovery.
"The doctors are confident that he will be ok. I am just incredibly grateful to them and to all of you," she wrote.
Pixies frontman Black Francis was one of the many who responded to the update:
Very good news indeed.
