The title, in case you're wondering, is Spanish for 'Oral Fixation' - chosen by Shakira because all the songs are apparently about things she can do with her mouth (no sniggering at the back). Most of the album is in Spanish too, with a smattering of French and German, but don't let that put you off. This is Latin American pop of the highest order, a bit like early Madonna except an awful lot more bonkers. Shakira's raw, sensual voice turns out to be tailor-made for a variety of musical backings, including cocktail jazz, techno-rock and even a dash of dreamy bossa nova. A massive star in her native Colombia, she plans to release an English-language album later this year. By then, an awful lot of people should be fixated on her.
