Selfie sticks have become increasingly popular of late, mainly thanks to celebrities using them for who-knows-what.

Even President Obama has got in on the act. However, if he's planning to head to Coachella or Lollapalooza this year, he won't be able to bring his selfie stick.

Major music festivals in the US have now placed an outright ban on selfie sticks, deeming them to be hazardous and disruptive.

This comes on foot of English venues such as the London O2 Arena, Wembley and O2 Brixton Academy placing a ban on selfie sticks.

It's not known if Electric Picnic, Forbidden Fruit or any of the other music festivals in Ireland will ban selfie sticks, but for ourselves, we think they should.

Seriously, how many times have you gone to a gig and seen people taking selfies during a performance?

You're there to watch them, not take pictures for Instagram.

Sorry, ranting again.
