'Rocketman' looks set to be another blockbuster hit, if this Taron Egerton and Elton John performance is anything to go by.
In what was a huge night for music in film, The Oscars saw four awards go to 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and Original Song to 'Shallow' in 'A Star Is Born.' No doubt Elton John's 'Rocketman' is hoping for greatness this time next year too.
After all of the award giving, attendees headed over to Elton John's annual post-Oscars' party; it seems the party was just beginning. Taking to the stage as part of the icon's auction to benefit his AIDS foundation, 'Rocketman' star Egerton surprised the audience by suggesting to that they sing an off-the-cuff performance of 'Tiny Dancer.'
Egerton posted some of the performance onto his Instagram, saying "Last night I performed with @eltonjohn. I'd like to think of something witty to say about it but I’m still too stunned and overcome with pride."
And he wasn't joking - he does look stunned. With a little pinch-myself-I'm-dreaming shake of his head, Egerton says before singing "It's funny how life turns out, isn't it?"
Here's his full performance, with Elton John accompanying him on the piano.
'Rocketman' will release in Irish cinemas this May with Egerton as the man himself. The film also stars Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, and Bryce Dallas Howard.
