As much as you may be excitable about the idea of meeting Robert Smith and the rest of The Cure, the same cannot be said for Robert Smith.
In fact, you could argue that it's the exact opposite for him - but you've got to remember that it's never usually anything personal. Robert Smith most likely doesn't want to be anywhere, let alone on the red carpet of the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame.
When approached by a truly excited interviewer who asked him if he too was excited, Robert Smith calmly and politely answered that he wasn't. "By the sounds of it, no."
You've got to admire that kind of honesty, especially on a red carpet where it's so often nuggets of information that are wrapped up in artifice and pleasantries.
