Red Hot Chili Peppers have revealed ambitious plans to release 18 singles over the next six months, beginning in mid-August. The tracks were all recorded during the sessions during which their 2011 album I'm With You was put together and will be released in nine parts over the next half year.

Tracks called 'Long Progression' and 'Strange Man' will be the first to see the light of day on August 11th. 'Magpies' and 'Victorian Machinery' will follow one month later.

Guitarist Josh Klinghoffer was quoted by NME as saying: "Some songs seem to have a lot more of an agenda than others. Some songs play well with others and some songs need more attentions and a little extra care. Here are some songs that seemed to want to pair up and take a later train. Keep an eye on them, they're up to something."

Red Hot Chili Peppers will play Croke Park on June 26 with support from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.
