It’s the biggest (read: most annoying) dance craze of 2012 – but it could have been so different. The South Korean singer was invited to speak at Oxford University on Wednesday and revealed that the inception of his famous dance cost him many nights of sleepless nights.
He said: "I stayed up for 30 nights to find that horse-riding dance. I tried every creature: elephant, monkey, kangaroo, snake. The kangaroo hopping was too slow, so we ended up imitating a horse", the singer said, in a fascinating insight to his brand of creativity – we’re sure you’ll agree.
Psy was speaking at the prestigious Oxford Union debating society and demand for his appearance was so much that tickets were allocated via a ballot, apparently for the first time in the organisation’s 189 year history.
The night ended exactly as you imagine it would, with Psy performing the ‘Gangnam Style’ dance in the company of a slew of tuxedo-wearing students.
