A square in Granada, Spain is set to be named after the legendary The Clash frontman, Joe Strummer. After a popular petition the city hall accepted the proposal and a square has been chosen. A city hall spokeswoman, María José Anguita had this to say about the future of Plaza Joe Strummer: "Now the proposal has to be approved by the committee of honours and distinctions. There was a popular petition for this to happen and the city hall accepted it."
Strummer, who names Granada in classic song Spanish Bombs, travelled to the beautiful city in question as The Clash began to dissolve in 1983 following the sacking of guitarist Mick Jones
