The legendary rock outfit are set to smash a record held by, ahem, One Direction.
Pink Floyd might have been concerned that their upcoming fifteenth album (and their first release in more than twenty years) mightn't drum up as much attention as they might have liked given the fact that many of today's music-buying audience probably weren't alive during the band's heyday, but it looks as though they needn't have worried.
A statement ushered forth into the internet by Amazon today states that 'The Endless River' has just beaten Coldplay's Ghost Stories to the title of 2014's biggest pre-order and also looks set to eclipse the total established last year by One Direction's 'Midnight Memories'.
Steve Bernstein of Amazon said: "That Pink Floyd's 'The Endless River' could become the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon.co.uk, following other artists like One Direction and Robbie Williams who have held that top spot, is a testament to the strength and diversity of the UK music scene."
This'll likely be among the last records that Pink Floyd set as a band however, as they have confirmed they are to split shortly after the record's release.
