Paul McCartney has just released his 24th solo album, the imaginatively titled 'New', and with that fact in mind it's easy to understand why Team Macca are drumming up all manner of publicity for the former Beatle.

The latest nugget of news to come out is that Paul regularly talks to John Lennon, despite his former bandmate passing on almost 33 years ago. Speaking to RollingStone.com, Macca said: "If I'm at a point where I go, 'I'm not sure about this', I'll throw it across the room to John. He'll say, 'You can't go there, man'. And I'll say, 'You're quite right. How about this?' 'Yeah, that's better'.

"We'll have a conversation. I don't want to lose that", he continued.

It's interesting, John seems a lot more agreeable with Paul in death than he did in life. Also, it's obvious that Paul clearly didn't consult John's spirit when writing a considerable portion of the Wings catalogue in the 80's, but we digress.

McCartney also divulged that he's largely patched things up with Lennon's widow Yoko Ono and that their once bitter relationship is now repaired.

"I thought, 'If John loved her, there's got to be something. He's not stupid'. It's like, what are you going to do? Are you going to hold a grudge you never really had?

"George [Harrisson] would say to me, 'You don't want stuff like that hanging around in your life'."
