You'd normally expect an instrument that sells for an enormous price at auction to belong to a musician who is perhaps no longer with us - but it goes to show just how revered Bob Dylan is.
A 1963 Martin D-28 acoustic guitar owned by the star was sold by a Dallas, Texas auction house for $396,500 (€340,000) at the weekend, to a buyer who requested anonymity.
Dylan used the guitar during George Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh in 1971, and also on the Rolling Thunder Revue tour in 1975 and 1976.
The guitar was sold via the auction house by his former guitar repairman Larry Cragg - who bought the instrument from Dylan in 1977 for $500. Now, that's what you call a canny investment.
