If you've heard the song 'Old Town Road', you'll know who Lil Nas X is.

The song, which has reached 'Baby Shark' levels of ubiquity since first being released at the end of last year, has proven a huge global hit, reaching number one in multiple countries and making a star of its creator, Lil Nas X.

Now, the 20-year-old from Atlanta, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, has hit the headlines for a different reason.

The young rapper chose the weekend of Pride to make his sexuality public by telling fans that they should pay close attention to the lyrics of his song 'C7osure (You Like It)' from his recently-released debut EP.

The lyrics suggest that he is tired of 'acting' and doesn't want to hold any regrets about not being true to himself:

"Ain't no more actin', man that forecast say I should just let me grow
No more red light for me, baby, only green, I gotta go
Pack my past up in the back, oh, let my future take a hold
This is what I gotta do, can't be regretting when I'm old"

As he put it himself on Twitter, he 'deadass thought [he] made it obvious' with the EP's cover art subtly depicting an LGBT flag.
