How's about this for a pop supergroup (or hurricane of mediocrity, depending on your perspective): One Direction are joining forces with Irish upstarts Kodaline and US pop-punkers Good Charlotte on their new album.
Harry Styles, Niall Horan and, er, the other three are currently working on their fourth album - a follow-up record to last year's Midnight Memories which topped the charts worldwide - and are currently enlisting their showbiz pals to help them see it through, according to NME.
Joel and and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte (remember them?) have both confirmed their appearance on the upcoming record too.
Benji Madden tweeted: "Good day today w/ @Louis_Tomlinson and @Read_Liam_Payne lotta laughs #1D #Directioners their new album is crazy. Homies!! #Noice.
Meanwhile, Kodaline also took to social media to get a bit of that sweet One Direction love on Twitter. The below tweet has been retweeted almost 10,000 times. We're not entirely sure what to expect with this one as this isn't a combo that we might have expected but both Kodaline and Good Charlotte have always veered towards the middle of the road in their respective genres, so we wouldn't be anticipating anything too groundbreaking here.
In the studio with @Harry_Styles in LA writing a tune, sounds massive. He's gone and done a drawing of us.. x pic.twitter.com/KoLh3lPNWp
