Beatle John Lennon would have been 75 years old on October 9th, if he had not been murdered by Mark Chapman in December 1980.

Lennon was just 40 when he died, but his widow Yoko Ono plans to commemorate his 75th birthday by staging a gathering in New York to form the world's biggest human peace sign.

Ono hopes to attract between 6,000 and 10,000 people to the event in Central Park on October 6th - so if you find yourself in NYC on that day, you can always pop along.

It's free to attend, but tickets will be made available online via Eventbrite. All those present will gather and an aerial photograph will be taken.

In other Lennon-related news, it was recently revealed that Irish playwright Stephen Kennedy's one-man play 'John Lennon's Last Day' will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2, with actor Ian Hart set to perform it.
