Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and his comedic doppelganger Will Ferrell, fresh from their drum battle on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last month, have combined forces and challenged a new foe - Metallica's Lars Ulrich!
The duo, who famously look incredibly alike, dressed identically for the Tonight Show appearance which culminated in the full Red Hot Chili Peppers band performing a cover of 'Don't Fear The Reaper' with, as you might expect, Ferrell providing the cowbell duties.
It seems like they had a pretty good time too, as they've got a brand new foe in their sights.
Speaking to Spin about the new challenge, Ferrell said: " I mean, we did talk about another drum-off, Ferrell explained: "With a third person that looks eerily similar to Chad and I. A third drummer out there … Lars gets pissed because he gets mistaken for both me and Chad Smith. He can settle that score now, too."
Chad Smith chimed in too, saying: "There it is. The gauntlet is down."
Of course, neither Will Ferrell nor Chad Smith resemble Lars Ulrich in the slightest but we can only imagine what Chad and Will have up their sleeves.
