Either way, Sheeran's cover of The Pogues' Christmas classic 'Fairytale of New York' is sure to divide opinion.
Sheeran covered the track in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge the other day, with pop star Anne-Marie filling in for Kirsty MacColl - and there's even a segue into 'Jingle Bells' at one point.
