He's playing us all like a fiddle, and he knows it.
Noel Gallagher changes his stance on an Oasis reunion every few weeks; sometimes, he shuts down the suggestion before the question has even left the interviewer's mouth. At other times - like on last night's The One Show on BBC - he likes to tease the possibility.
Hosts Angela Scanlon and Matt Baker brought up the fact that Oasis will be eligible for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, as it will be 25 years since their debut album was released - but they would have to reform for the ceremony.
At first, Gallagher says: "I'd do it!", much to the astonishment of everyone in the studio, before shaking his head and laughing. "I guess you’d have to, to accept it; that’s if you accept it," he added. When pressed on the matter, he says "Emmmmmm... I'm gonna say.... no" before backtracking in a tongue-in-cheek matter after the disappointed reaction, saying "We can say yes. Shall we say yes? [Ask me again] and I'll say yes. Absolutely, I would be thrilled to do it."
Still, the fact that he's able to joke about the possibility is progress... right?
