Jesse Hughes, the frontman of American band Eagles of Death Metal, has spoken out for the first time to address the recent events at their gig in Paris. 

A clearly upset Hughes and his fellow bandmate Joshua Homme - who was not touring with the band - conducted an interview with Vice co-founder Shane Smith about the incident. Hughes revealed that fans tried to hide from the gunmen in the band's dressing room at the Bataclan but they were all killed, apart from one who hid under his leather jacket.

“A great reason why so many were killed is because so many people wouldn’t leave their friends - so many people put themselves in front of other people," he added.
