Dave Grohl took a leaf out of U2's book last week by bringing a fan on stage mid-gig to let them join in the band's set.
Grohl spotted a fan, Anthony Bifolchi, holding up a sign that said 'It's my birthday, can I play drums?' - and promptly invited him up on stage, although with the caveat 'You better not suck!' and joked that he would 'tar and feather your ass backstage' if he did.
The fan asked to play 'Best of You', but Grohl refused, saying that that was band's last song of the night - so he opted for 'Big Me' instead.
It seems that Bifolchi was sufficiently happy, however, as he tweeted about the incident afterwards.
So that just happened. Playing on stage with my hero's .. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. @foofighters #BigMe

Funnily enough, it was in the same city - Toronto - that the two U2 incidents happened in last week.
