Coldplay played the Super Bowl halftime show yesterday, but it was their special guest Beyoncé who threatened to steal their thunder.
Chris Martin and co. certainly delivered a colourful set - with Martin starting the show on his knees on the pitch as kids streamed past him, before joining his bandmates on stage for 'Viva La Vida'.
They also played songs from their back catalogue that included 'Paradise' and 'Adventure of a Lifetime' before Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson took the stage for 'Uptown Funk'.
Beyoncé - who has just announced a date at Dublin's Croke Park in July - also made an appearance as expected, with a pretty spectacular version of 'Formation' which was performed on the pitch with a marching band before taking to the stage for a dance-off with Bruno Mars.
Since it was Super Bowl 50, a montage of the past 49 halftime shows was then played as Coldplay closed the show with 'Fix You', incorporating lines from everything from U2's 'Beautiful Day' to Prince's 'Purple Rain'.
There was no appearance by Rihanna, who had been rumoured to join Coldplay for a tune.
What do you think - did Coldplay deliver, or was it all a little vanilla? Watch below:
