Beyonce sent the internet into a tailspin on Friday when she unexpectedly released her new album, with absolutely no promotion or fanfare whatsoever - a pretty mean feat in the increasingly leak-heavy digital realm. She has wasted no time in incorporating her new songs into her live set and performed a selection of them in her setlist for her show at Chicago's United Centre on Friday night. Introducing her new song 'XO', Beyonce said: "I'm gonna sing this song, which is a brand new song. It hasn't even been out for 24 hours. I want to sing this to you all because it was written for you all. This is the first time. Something I'll never forget."
The self-titled album, Beyonce's fifth solo effort, was worked on by a veritable who's-who of guest collaborators, including Justin Timberlake, Ryan Tedder and The Dream, Frank Ocean, Hit-Boy, Drake and Miguel.
