Foo Fighters' official YouTube channel has debuted a clip in the last few hours which is thought to be the opening salvo from the group's upcoming eighth album.
The brief clip in which Dave Grohl screams "All Rise!" with his trademark drawl appeared on Foo Fighters' YouTube channel overnight without explanation and all signs point to it being the first teaser for the band's next album, their first since 2011's 'Wasting Light'.
Dave Grohl and co. really seem to be ramping up the anticipation behind the new record. A post on the band's official Facebook page told fans to "keep an eye out here for some big news coming on Monday" and many observers reckon they'll be releasing some information on the album or, better yet, the first single.
Famed producer Butch Vig, who produced Nirvana's 'Nevermind', was behind the mixing desk on this album and has described the sounds they captured during the sessions as "epic".
The album - as yet untitled - was recorded in eight different studios in eight different cities across the United States and the release of the record will be documented by a HBO miniseries called 'Sonic Highways', directed by Grohl.
Of course, this won't be Grohl's first time behind a camera as he also directed the critically acclaimed 'Sound City' documentary about the recording studio of the same name.
