Having already been nominated for the Mercury and Choice Music Prizes, Villagers have picked up a yet another prestigious award nomination, this time for a coveted Ivor Novello songwriting award.

Conor O'Brien is up for Best Song Musically and Lyrically, with the title track of debut album 'Becoming A Jackal' going up against Everything Everything's 'MY KZ, UR BF' and Foal's 'Spanish Sahara'. That's some tough competition, right there.

Meanwhile, Everything Everything are also up for the Album Award for their thoroughly brilliant debut 'Man Alive', while Plan B is also nominated in two categories – the Album Award for concept record 'The Defamation of Strickland Banks' and PRS for Music's Most Performed Work for hit single 'She Said'.
