Never one to be outdone by Michael Jackson, former Queen singer Freddie Mercury will join his friend and sometime collaborator Michael Jackson by releasing a glut of previously unheard material posthumously.

Speaking to BBC Radio Wales, Queen guitarist Brian May announced the forthcoming record will be released by the end of the year and will be called 'Queen Forever'. The unreleased vocal tracks can be traced back to the 80's and will showcase Mercury's vocals over instrumental tracks recorded recently.

May described the album as "quite emotional" and that it will contain "big, big ballads and the big, big epic sound" and that he will be restoring the tracks himself with help from Queen bandmate Roger Taylor.

"We had to start from scratch because we only had scraps", May said. "We had to start from scratch because we only had scraps."

Previous posthumous material released by Queen included a 1993 duet with Michael Jackson, whose XSCAPE album was released earlier this month.
