U2 were among the winners at the Q Awards, where they were awarded the honour of being the best group of the past twenty-five years, as voted by readers of the magazine. Elsewhere, Adele picked up a couple of awards for best female and best track for 'Rolling In The Deep'. Coldplay were announced as the best band in the world today and Gary Barlow was honoured for his two decades of songwriting.

Bon Iver beat off competition from Elbow, Arctic Monkeys and PJ Harvey to win best album and Tinie Tempah was best male.
