You may not consider the town of Aylesbury to have any strong association with David Bowie, but the UK town has unveiled the world's first statue of the music icon.
The Buckinghamshire town was reportedly where Bowie first unveiled his Ziggy Stardust persona in the early 1970s and he has now been immortalised after a sculpture was crowdfunded via Kickstarter, raising over £100,000.
The statue depicts a number of Bowie's alter-egos from throughout his career, including Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane, and plays one of his songs on the hour, every hour from 9am - 9pm.
With a petition also recently launched to rename Aylesbury to 'Aylesbowie', it looks like the town may become a new hub for Bowie fans.
