A new film about Morrissey's life, leading up to the time when he formed The Smiths with Johnny Marr, will start shooting next month.
It's called 'Steven' and will see actor Jack Lowden portray the singer before he ditched his Christian name and became an iconic musician in the early-mid eighties.
The 25-year-old Lowden has appeared in films like '71 and TV series including Wolf Hall and War & Peace, and will take the leading role in the film - which was written by Mark Gill, a relatively unknown director who has written and directed a couple of short films to date, including 'The Voorman Problem', which was nominated for an Oscar a few years ago.
