Phil Collins has postponed two shows on his current 'comeback' tour after suffering a fall.
The singer began his run of sold-out shows at London's Royal Albert Hall earlier this week, but some reviews suggested that the 66-year-old appeared frail following his back problems in recent years.
Indeed, it seems that that's what the problem was after a statement was released on his official Facebook page explaining the postponement of two further London shows.
"Phil suffers from ‘drop foot’ as a result of a back operation which makes it difficult to walk. He rose in the middle of the night to go to the toilet and slipped in his hotel room, hitting his head in the fall on a chair. He was taken to hospital where he had stitches for a severe gash on his head close to his eye and is recovering well.
Phil sends his sincere apologies and thanks to fans. He has had a fantastic week at his first shows in ten years, cannot thank people enough for their warm reaction and is excited to return."
The two affected shows have been moved to November and Collins is believed to be continuing the tour this Sunday in Cologne. He is due to play Dublin's Aviva Stadium on June 25th with support from Blondie and Mike and the Mechanics.
