Lady Gaga has topped the list of nominees for this year's MTV VMA Awards with a record-breaking 13 nominations. As well as receiving the most ever nods in a single VMA, Gaga is the first female artist to be nominated for two separate videos in the Video of the Year category. Gaga was delighted, tweeting "13 VMA noms lilmonsters. Breakin records+breakin rüles. I love you, you Bad Kids are a part of me. PAWS UP!"

Running second to Gaga is Eminem, who picked up an also impressive eight nominations, while Ke$ha, Drake, Florence and The Machine and Justin Bieber are among those receiving their first ever VMA nods.

The VMAs will take place on Sunday September 12th. The full list of nominations is below:
