Laura Marling is to release a new single, produced by the venerable Jack White. Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, the White Stripes, Raconteurs and Dead Weather musician revealed that he recorded the song with Marling in his Nashville studio while she was passing through.

"Somebody turned me onto her a few months back... It was perfect - one take ... She's gorgeous. Gorgeous voice and an incredible person. A wonderful girl."

White is always game for a new collaboration, actively seeking out new musicians to work with.
"If people are coming through town I try to catch up with them and ask them if they want to come by before their show and record something."

The song's title and release date have not yet been confirmed, but it will be released on 7" vinyl as part of White's Third Man Records 'Blues Series'.

Elsewhere, Laura's mates Mumford and Sons are set to release a limited edition EP under their alter-ego The Wedding Band. As such, it features songs rarely heard on their live circuit. The 10" EP is titled 'Volume 1', but is only available from mumfordandsons.com when buying tickets for the band's newly announced UK tour in October. Laura herself will be playing with Marcus Mumford and co. for a special collaboration with India's Dharohar Project in July. Those gigs take place in London and Bradford, but you can see Laura at Oxegen next weekend!
