The rumor mill (i.e. Twitter) is going into hyperdrive this evening with the news that Ed Sheeran may be playing a secret gig in Dublin tonight.

Sheeran, of course, is set for two mammoth gigs at Croke Park this Friday and Saturday night, but is no stranger to smaller venues. In January, he filmed an episode of VH1's 'Storytellers' at Whelan's, and he has also played the Ruby Sessions at Doyle's pub in the recent past.

The Irish Sun are reporting that the current most famous ginger in music will play Whelan's at 7pm tonight with support from Jamie Lawson, who is signed to his label and will be supporting him at Croker over the weekend, too.

That story checks out, insofar as Lawson tweeted that he was en route to Dublin earlier today and there is no other gig scheduled for Whelan's main venue - but bear in mind, this is totally unconfirmed at the moment.

Still, no harm in popping the head in, we suppose.
