It's a busy weekend in store for live music fans on our island with two top music festivals opening their doors for a weekend of top tunes. We'll get to Castlepalooza a bit later but for now it's time to cast our gazes in the direction of MItchelstown and the Indiependence festival.

Where is it? What do you need to bring? When are the bands on? Don't worry yourselves, we've done all the dogwork, so read on and you'll find out everything you'll need to know.

How do we get there?

Indiependence is at Deer Farm, Mitchelstown in Co. Cork, on the old Dublin road. If you approach from Dublin, you will take the first Mitchelstown exit and the site will be on your right hand side before you reach Mitchelstown. YOU CANNOT CROSS THE LINE OF TRAFFIC TO TURN RIGHT INTO THE CAR PARK, you must continue to the roundabout which is only 300 metres away and turn and enter the car park by turning left.

On the other hand, if you're approaching from the Cork direction take the first Mitchelstown exit you meet, continue straight through the town and follow the signs for Dublin, the site will be on your left hand side.

If approaching from Limerick, follow the signs for Dublin when you approach the first roundabout and the site will be on your left hand side.

Can we park there?

Yes, yes you may. Car parking is €10 per car and this is charged on arrival and must be paid in cash.

I'm camping this year. What's the deal there?

There are five campsites at Indiependence, one of which is a family campsite where noise is to be kept to a minimum. Don't be 'that guy', okay?

Can we bring booze?

You can. You're entitled to bring a slab of beer (24 cans) or one litre of spirits (though they must be transferred to a plastic bottle). Obviously, you won't be allowed bring any of these into the festival arena so don't even try.

Okay then, what can't we bring?

Don't be an eejit and bring any of the following: sharp objects, large stereo equipment, disposable BBQ's, gazebos, drugs and illegal substances.

Can I still buy tickets?

Indiependence is completely sold out. So no, no you can't.

I'm 17. Can I go?

Sure, but you must have an adult with you. And no funny business, you hear?

What are the facilities like?

Standard festival fare. You'll have access to showers and toilets, as well as numerous food & drink options as well as a medical area.

What will the weather be like?

Our pals over at www.met.ie say the following:

Hmm, not too shabby. Lastly, what does the festival site itself look like?

A bit like this:
