This year, Groove Festival is adding a rather tasty culinary dimension to its programme with the 'Celtic Kitchen'.

As its name suggests, it will offer a brand new take on the festival food experience of over-cooked burgers and soggy chips.

Instead, Chefs Rory Morahan and Paul Kelly will be teaming up to offer festival-goers a 'culinary theatre of food' by using local produce from Wicklow with traditional ancient Irish cooking techniques.

The Celtic Kitchen will involve the below:

- Celtic Culinary Stage: Morahan and Kelly, along with suppliers Ed Hicks (Hick's Pork Butchers) and Peter Caviston (Caviston's Food Emporium) will showcase the best in contemporary Irish cusine;

- Demonstration of a Fulachta Fiadh: if you paid attention in history class as a youngster, you'll remember that a Fulachta Fiadh was a method used by our ancestors to cook meat using hot rocks to heat a water pool;

- Meat & Eat Street Kitchen: This will run all day, allowing punters to actually taste the food that the chefs have been preparing and cooking throughout the day. Dishes will include Fulachta Fiadh-cooked lamb or venison, 'Ancient East Salmon of Knowledge', BBQ Glendalough Buttermilk Lamb, and more.
