The singer, who has been the subject of intense speculation today on where the gigs will be moved to, if it goes ahead at all, released the following statement via a PR firm.

”I can’t thank the people of Ireland enough for how welcome they have made me feel. I have faith that Dublin City Council will make the best decision for the people of Ireland. For us, it is five shows or none at all. To choose which shows to do and which shows not to do, would be like asking to choose one child over another. However this plays out, Ireland has my heart and always will.”

Promotor Peter Aiken defended Brooks saying Dublin CIty Council had put in "an awkward position." He doesn't want to leave any fan disappointed and is putting a huge amount into the production of the show.

Hopefully a dead can be reached in some capacity anyway.
