Some 46 Keith Urban fans were hospitalised during the singer and American Idol judge's concert in Mansfield, Massachusetts on Saturday night, the majority of them for what was later described as "alcohol related issues".

As per a report by Reuters, a statement released by the Mansfield fire and police authorities said that that ambulances from five local areas were dispatched to the venue to deal with the unusually large section of people seeking medical treatment. More than 50 of these people were taken into protective custody by local police. A significant number of arrests were also reported.

"Last evening's Keith Urban concert was not anticipated to present with the volume of issues handled", a report released by Mansfield authorities read.

Concert attendees described an incessant loop of medical personnel treating people at the scene as dozens of fans "feel ill, passed out and injured themselves", according to the Boston Herald.

Keith Urban later described the concert in Mansfield as "nutso" on one of his social media accounts.
