A country musician caught up in the attack in Las Vegas on Sunday night has shared his thoughts on gun laws and how he has completely changed his mind about them following the massacre.

Caleb Keeter plays guitar in The Josh Abbott Band and explained via a statement on Twitter how he had always been supportive of the NRA and the US constitution's second amendment, i.e. a citizen's right to bear arms.

However, following the shooting, he said that his perspective had been changed and that 'enough is enough', later replying to a tweet admitting that he had been 'wrong, stupid, and selfish' for his previous stance on gun control.

"We actually have members of our crew with CHL licenses, and legal firearms on the bus. They were useless," he wrote. "We couldn’t touch them for fear police might think that we were part of the massacre and shoot us. A small group (or one man) laid waste to a city of dedicated, fearless police officers desperately trying to help, because of access to an insane amount of fire power."
