The undoubted highlight of this year's Forbidden Fruit festival are coming back to Ireland for a string of shows across the island.

Chic, featuring the talents of virtuoso guitarist Nile Rodgers, will play Dublin's Vicar Street on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th October next. A bedrock of popular music, Rodgers has been responsible for a litany of classic tunes. 'Everybody Dance', 'Le Freak', Madonna's 'Like A Virgin', David Bowie's 'Let's Dance' as well as this year's smash hit, Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' were all borne from Rodgers' guitar.

Chic & Nile Rodgers will also play shows in Ulster Hall, Belfast (23rd Oct); Milk Market, Limerick (25th Oct); and Radisson Hotel, Galway (27th Oct).

We reviewed Chic at Forbidden Fruit earlier this summer and this is what we had to say:

"Watching Chic live is almost like going through a strange Back To The Future style journey through musical history, such is the monumental body of work that Nile Rodgers has contributed to popular music over the course of the last 35 years. ‘We Are Family’, ‘Like A Virgin’, Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’, as well as a CD version of ‘Get Lucky’ piped through the PA system, were among the hits that got the best responses from the masses. (9.5/10)"
