This has to be one of the longest-running sagas ever related to an award - or at least a Nobel Prize.
When it was announced that Bob Dylan was the recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature last October, it generated quite a controversy amongst many who felt that some well-deserving authors and poets had been passed over in favour of a musician.
Then it seemed that Dylan himself wasn't bowled over by the honour, as he was not going to attend the ceremony in Stockholm in December.
However, the good news is that he has FINALLY collected the award when he was in Stockholm over the weekend, during a small reception with '12 members of the Swedish Academy' at a hotel, and one member of Dylan's personal staff. He did not address receiving the award at his Stockholm gig that night, and media were banned from the ceremony.
In any case, we can stop talking about it now.
