Late last year, Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett said that the cartoon band were working on their new album and it was tentatively scheduled for release in 2016.
However, despite sharing clips from the studio in April showing that things were progressing well, it looks like fans will have to wait until next year to hear it.
According to Gorillaz fan site GorillazNorthAmerica, their fifth album - the follow-up to 2011's 'The Fall' -
They quote Hewlett as saying that the album is "special, really fuckin special" and "can't be rushed", so it will be out in 2017.
