As the first anniversary of last year's Manchester Arena attack looms on the horizon, Ariana Grande has finally spoken about the horrible event.
22 people were killed when a suicide bomber detonated a homemade bomb in the lobby of the venue as her gig was ending on May 22nd, 2017 - but thus far, the Florida-born pop star has not spoken about it publicly.
After hosting last year's One Love benefit concert and completing the rest of her tour, Grande has not made many appearances in public as she has been recording her forthcoming album 'Sweetener' - and the closest she came to speaking about the Manchester incident was when Jimmy Fallon brought it up recently.
Now, in a new interview with Time magazine, she has opened up about her feelings on the whole thing.
"There are so many people who have suffered such loss and pain," she said, with the interviewer noting that she continually stops to 'sob'.
"The processing part is going to take forever."
She added: "I don’t want to give it that much power. Something so negative. It’s the absolute worst of humanity. That’s why I did my best to react the way I did. The last thing I would ever want is for my fans to see something like that happen and think it won."
"Music is supposed to be the safest thing in the world. I think that’s why it’s still so heavy on my heart every single day. I wish there was more that I could fix. You think with time it’ll become easier to talk about. Or you’ll make peace with it. But every day I wait for that peace to come and it’s still very painful."
