If ever there was a musician whose life story is primed for the 'Broadway musical' treatment, it's Cher.
There's no question that the now-71-year-old has led a fascinating life, from her beginnings as half of folk-rock duo Sonny & Cher, through her pop glory days and right up to the present day, as we saw at the recent Billboard Music Awards.
She announced the news on Twitter in her own unique tweeting style, revealing that the show - title TBA - will debut on Broadway in 2018.
Billboard reports that it's to be directed by Jason Moore, the director behind the movie Pitch Perfect and musical Avenue Q, the book is written by Rick Elice (Jersey Boys) and some of Cher's biggest hits will feature - while the producers of 'Hamilton' are also involved.
