Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar may have cleaned up at the Grammys last night, but one award proved a little more controversial in nature.
The nominees for 'Best New Artist' included breakout r'n'b singer SZA, rapper Lil Uzi Vert, pop star Julia Michaels and r'n'b singer Khalid - along with pop star Alessia Cara, who eventually ended up winning.
The problem is, as many have pointed out, that the 21-year-old Canadian has been around since 2014 and released her debut album in 2015 - so describing her as a 'New' artist is factually incorrect.
There were a lot of angry SZA fans on Twitter to point out just that...
Snub. Of. The. Night.
Alessia Cara takes home Best New Artist over SZA, Khalid, and Lil Uzi Vert.
As great as Alessia's music is, her album came out in 2015. This one made no sense.

Things I’m confused about... I feel like Alessia Cara has been around for a few years now. She’s very talented. No hate intended...But was she really “new” in comparison to some of the other nominees?
